Kief Makes Return Visit To Ohio State

Growing up Derek Kief has watched many battles between Ohio State and Michigan. Saturday the talented 2014 wide receiver was able to see one up close. We get a quick update about Kief's game day visit to Ohio State.

As one of the top wide receiver prospects in Ohio for the 2014 recruiting class Derek Kief of Cincinnati (Ohio) La Salle is hearing from several programs across the country.

One program the 6-foot5, 185-pound Kief has visited in the past is Ohio State. But Kief's visit with the Buckeyes for their annual battle with Michigan gave him a different look at a program showing interest in him.

"I really liked it a lot and the game was real exciting," said Kief. "I really enjoyed being at the game having grown up watching the game on television.

"I've been to Ohio State for their games against California and Nebraska and those were really cool games to attend. However, the Michigan game was a totally different atmosphere and a lot more crazy. The fans were totally into the game and I really liked that."

Because of the number of recruits attending the game Kief knew talking with any of the coaches would be hard. But the Buckeyes are keeping in close contact and being up front about their interest.

"I didn't get a chance to talk with any of the coaches as it was really hectic there," explained Kief. "But I continue to speak with (assistant) coach (Kerry) Coombs and he's telling me they like me a lot and they need to see how things work out with the 2013 class first. But he said they do like me a lot." Recommended Stories
