Ohio State secured one of its top remaining targets in the 2013 class when linebacker/defensive end Tyquan Lewis of Tarboro, N.C., announced his commitment to the Buckeyes football program on Thursday.
Rated by Scout.com as the No. 34 defensive end his class, Lewis chose Ohio State over LSU and North Carolina. Lewis had already made his decision but waited to announce it to the public.
The 6-4, 230-pound prospect said there were multiple reasons Ohio State was the program he selected, but it was the Buckeyes winning tradition that really stood out to the defender the most.
Lewis was last in Columbus for Ohio State’S Friday Night Lights camp on July 28. He arrived to the camp late because of traffic, but he and his mother got an extensive tour of the campus the following day. Lewis also spent plenty of time visiting with OSU head coach Urban Meyer and his staff.
Stay tuned with BuckeyeSports.com for more on Lewis’ commitment.
