Marcus Picks Ohio State

All of Ohio State's verbal commits have sent in their letters of intent, but Signing Day is not over for the Buckeyes. Urban Meyer received another piece of good news Wednesday morning when Durham (N.C.) Hillside defensive lineman Jamal Marcus picked OSU.

Durham (N.C.) Hillside standout Jamal Marcus became a Signing Day surprise for Ohio State and head coach Urban Meyer when the three-star recruit selected the Buckeyes at a ceremony at his high school.

The 6-3, 245-pound prospect picked OSU over East Carolina. Marcus, a linebacker, had taken an official visit to Ohio State last weekend.

With Marcus' commitment, Ohio State has 24 members in its 2012 recruiting class. That number could grow by one more by the end of the day. Cleveland Heights (Ohio) offensive lineman Kyle Dodson is set to make his announcement at 12:15 p.m. OSU is a finalist for his services along with Wisconsin, Michigan State and USC.

Two other prospects – Olney (Md.) Our Lady of Good Counsel wide receiver/cornerback Stefon Diggs and cornerback Davonte' Neal of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral – are set to announce after Signing Day. Both are still considering Ohio State.

Scout.com will have more on Marcus this afternoon.
