Both players are four-star prospects, Reeves as a cornerback, and Williams as a linebacker, and both could see playing time this coming season at Ohio State. The depth chart is favorable at both positions.
MEYER'S TIMELINE TO LAND BOTH:
January 15th. Even though both players remain committed to Penn State, four-star prospects Camren Williams and Armani Reeves (West Roxbury, Mass.) are keeping their options open. Both players have visits upcoming, including official visits to Penn State.
Brent Williams, former NFL player and father of Camren Williams, discussed where each player will be visiting throughout the last month of the recruiting season.
"Camren will be taking an unofficial visit to Ohio State next Wednesday (January 18th)," the elder Williams stated. "Armani will be taking an official to Michigan this weekend (January 14th), and then take an official visit to Ohio State next Wednesday and Thursday, and be there with Camren. Then, both will be taking an official to Penn State the weekend of January 27th."
Reeves, 5-foot-10, 185-pounds, is a four-star cornerback prospect, and is listed as the number-six rated cornerback in America. He was just offered by Ohio State Thursday, January 12th.
Williams, 6-foot-2, 200-pounds, is also a four-star recruit, and is listed as the number-16 outside linebacker prospect in the country. He previously visited Ohio State on an official visit back on December 11, so his trip next week will be his second to Ohio State in little over a month.
WILLIAMS COMMITTED FIRST:
(January 20th) BREAKING NEWS: Four-star linebacker Camren Williams has committed to Ohio State, per his father, Brent Williams. The younger Williams notified the Penn State staff today of his intent. Scout.com will have more on this situation later today.
REEVES CAME NEXT:
(January 29th.) BREAKING NEWS: Ohio State picked up a commitment Sunday night from West Roxbury (MA) four-star cornerback Armani Reeves, the player's god-father Brent Williams confirmed. Scout.com will have more, including quotes from the player, later.
REEVES ON CHOOSING OHIO STATE:
Having long-time friend and teammate Camren Williams being committed to Ohio State also added to the Buckeye attraction. Williams' father, former NFL player Brent Williams, also serves as Reeves' god-father.
"Cam and I have been friends since second grade, so it's great to be going to school with him," he explained. "I'm also friends with David Perkins and Tommy Schutt, and that's so great we are all going to be together. If I had gone to Michigan, Cam and I would still be friends, but when we played against each other, we would have been enemies. That would have been hard, but now we can go on and do great things together."
"Brent (Williams) has been a blessing to me, to be honest," he added. "He never tried to push me to one school or another, but he was there every day for me as a father figure. He's been like a father to me, and I thank him for everything he has done for me. He has helped me and supported me, and that wouldn't have changed whether I chose Michigan or Ohio State."
