The opening game of Ohio State's 2011 football season is nearly here, but first we bring you a look back at everything that was discussed this week as the Buckeyes prepared to take on Akron.

The first week of the 2011 football season brought with it a sense that maybe we never quite left. Some of the faces change, but the show must go on, and essentially the same schedule and practices were kept up this year for members of the Ohio State football beat.

We're back to recount the various things scribbled into one reporter's notebook as the Buckeyes and new Ohio State head coach Luke Fickell talked about the game ahead and a tumultuous offseason they hope remains behind them.
