Who walks away as SCPrepNation.com's Player Of The Year? Inside we have the 5 finalists who we've selected to battle it out for the award. Guys like South Pointe's Jadeveon Clowney made the cut for our top 5. Who else made the cut? Come inside to find out who we'll be selecting from next week as our Player Of The Year.

With the regular season and postseason over now we turn our attention to naming our All-State teams and announcing our Player of The Year Awards. We'll start the postseason awards off first by announcing the 5 finalists for our Player of The Year Award. Below are the finalists who we have determined to be the very best. We will announce the SCPrepNation.com Player Of The Year Award next Friday December 17th so stay tuned.

DE Jadeveon Clowney South Pointe HS 6'5 245 pounds		The nation's 1 overall prospect obviously lands on the list after another stellar season for the Stallions. Despite losing in the state title game Clowney's legacy was in no way tainted after helping the Stallions to a state championship in the AAAA Division 2 ranks two years ago before moving to AAA this past season. Physically he's head and shoulders ahead of the curve on this level and should have an instant impact on the college level in the right defense. South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Clemson, and Florida State are believed to be amongst his final schools at this point.
QB Everett Golson Myrtle Beach HS 5'11 170 pounds		His record speaks for itself having guided Myrtle Beach to another AAA state title this year after sitting out most of the season due to an injury against Byrnes early in the season. His status in the Pee Dee area and for the entire state is on the legendary level. Some doubt his physical stature but Golson is a proven winner who can make all the throws and utilizes his scrambling ability to buy time to find the open receiver. The Notre Dame commit has all the intangibles as a field general to electrify the Fighting Irish fans for quite some time.
WR Charone Peake Dorman HS 6'3 180 pounds		Peake, like Golson, carried great expectations as a freshman on the varsity level but he also managed to develop into those expectations and more. This 5-star wide receiver has the tools that college coaches love and should challenge for early playing time after giving his commitment to Clemson over a year ago. The 6'3 stud at times made the game look easy, even at times as if he was toying with defenders with his talent. After helping the Cavaliers take the AAAA Division 1 state title last season they fell short against Byrnes in a rematch this year. Should Clemson's quarterback situation strengthen expect Peake to be an All-ACC and possible All-American selection before he's done given his body of work thus far in his career.
LB Dexter Staley Williston-Elko HS 6'2 220 pounds		Staley like the rest of the players on this list has experienced winning a state title before. A beast on the field, his end to end speed and strength wreaked havoc for his Williston-Elko squad on both sides of the ball. He amassed over 90 tackles on defense and over 2,000 yards of offense. Although they didn't win the state championship again this year they made the title game again falling to Scott's Branch by 2 points. Staley has been quiet as of late about his recruitment but expect him to be a big time playmaker just the same on the college level.
QB Justin Worley Northwestern HS 6'4 197 pounds		Don't fall for the choir boy appearance with Worley, he's atop the South Carolina passing record books for good reason. He's dissected opponents for 4 seasons en route to rewriting the record books. After making the state title game only to fall short in his sophomore and junior seasons Worley guided his team back again as a senior and this time walked away victorious finally. That consistency paired with his 6'4 height and ability to find the open receiver have boded well for him. Some question his ability under center since he ran out of the shotgun his entire career but the results are hard to argue with as he's a proven winner who went out on top in various aspects. Tennessee gained his verbal commitment and you can expect the staff to be licking their chops with Worley in the mix for 4 or 5 seasons.
